FAQ

> What kind of office chair is better adapted to my requirements? How can I make a choice?

Office chairs are conceived to give an answer to any of the main categories of functions to be found in a company.

A. Working chairs for computer work: chairs are a key element of the work post. It contributes to work efficiency, productivity and health. The ergonomic conception is studied carefully. Chairs must be adjustable so as to adapt to different morphologies while providing two major things: a permanent support of the back, notably of the lumbar area and freedom of movements for users.

If the chair is going to be used more than 3 hours per day, synchronised mechanisms with personalised tension device must be considered as a priority.

If the chair is going to be used for shorter periods of time, a chair featuring a backrest with permanent contact might be suitable.

B. Manager chairs: very often these are leather chairs. They boast important dimensions and must facilitate analysis work. Therefore they can be equipped with tilting mechanisms; yet, if the user carries out computer work in forward position regularly as well, priority must be given to chairs with synchronised mechanisms.

C. Visitor or meeting chairs: generally people stay short periods of time sitting in these chairs, so ergonomics are not that important, as long as dimensions meet required standards. Thus functional and aesthetical criteria will be given more importance with these chairs.

D. Waiting room chairs: the company’s waiting area is the first vision visitors will get from your corporate image, and consequently it plays a major role in it. Your company’s reception must inspire quality, conviviality, dynamism…

E. Collectivity chairs: meeting rooms, the company’s cafeteria and so on must be equipped with versatile chairs which make it possible to rearrange these areas easily. Chairs must be stackable, easy to clean and must offer the possibility to add accessories such as writing tables. Besides, they must be in compliance with fire standards and so on.

F. Workshop chairs: when working on a sit/stand workstation or when doing computer work in a workshop, it is important to grant a privilege to materials such as polyurethane or wood for both seat and backrest, for these materials are easy to clean but also resistant to dirt, acids, sparks and so on. Chairs filled with foam and upholstered with coating fabrics are more comfortable, but they should be reserved to protected areas.
