Located in Hendaye, SOKOA was born in 1971 from the project of economic development with the aim of contributing to job creation in the Basque Country.
Since it was created, SOKOA has been actively and daily combining local economic development and partnership across Europe. With 700 shareholders including all its employees, SOKOA has participated to the creation or development of nearly 245 businesses that employ 2600 people in the Basque Country.
Sokoa has joined the international voluntary programme called “Global Compact” promoted by the UNO that campaigns for the respect of some fundamental principles in the world of business and for the companies’ civility.
Specialised in Office Chairs, SOKOA has chosen an external growth in its field, which enables it to always improve its competitiveness at international level.
To carry out this strategy, SOKOA has created a Holding Company called SOFIKOA. The group realised € 71 millions in 2007 and has nearly 450 employees.
